Possible Funding Options for a Pram Wagon
Share
There are some organisations in Australia that offer grants or funding assistance for families, particularly those with children who have disabilities, which could potentially be used to purchase pram wagons.
Please note: There is no guarantee that the grant will be approved, as funding decisions are highly competitive and dependent on the specific guidelines of each organisation. To have a greater success it is important to ensure that your application is thorough, well-documented, and tailored to the grant's criteria, but even with a strong submission, approval is not guaranteed. Always explore additional funding avenues to increase the chances of securing the necessary support.
If your child has a specific diagnosis, it is also worth reaching out to the organisation that supports that condition to explore potential funding opportunities. Many foundations and charities focused on certain diagnoses offer financial assistance, grants, or equipment funding for families in need. These organisations often have specialised resources and may be able to help with the purchase of essential items, like pram wagons, that support your child's mobility and overall well-being.

No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS)
While Pragon does not advocate for getting into debt if possible, we understand that in certain circumstances, there may be an absolute need to access funds quickly to support your family’s needs. In these cases, we encourage exploring all available options, such as applying for grants, seeking assistance from charities, or utilising community resources. However, if taking on debt becomes a necessity, we strongly advise researching reputable lenders, understanding the terms of the loan, and ensuring that repayment plans are manageable to avoid long-term financial strain. Responsible borrowing is crucial in safeguarding your financial well-being.
NILs offers small, interest-free loans of up to $2000 for low income families and individuals. This can be used for mobility devices and support.
You may be able to borrow up to $2000. Loans are generally repaid over a 12-month period (longer periods can be accessed if needed), and you’ll only have to repay what you’ve borrowed – no interest.
There are many places where you can apply for a No Interest Loan, search on the link below to find the closest to you.
Tips for writing your application for a grant for a pram wagon
When writing a grant application for a pram wagon, it's important to clearly demonstrate how the equipment will meet the child’s specific needs and positively impact their daily life. Focus on outlining the necessity of the pram wagon by detailing the mobility challenges the child faces and how the equipment will enhance their independence, safety, and participation in family activities or community outings. Additionally, highlight the broader impact on the family, such as making outings more manageable, improving quality of life, or reducing the physical strain on caregivers.
Ensure that the application aligns with the organisation’s specific eligibility criteria, and include any required medical or financial documentation to substantiate your case. Providing detailed, personal information on how the pram wagon will make a meaningful difference is key to a successful application.
