What is a pram wagon and how does it differ from a traditional pram or stroller?

A pram wagon is a hybrid between a pram and a wagon, designed to offer more versatility and space than traditional prams or strollers. While a pram or stroller typically accommodates one or two children seated in a forward-facing position, pram wagons feature a more spacious design that can comfortably hold multiple children at once, often with the option for them to sit facing each other.

Pram wagons also tend to have larger wheels and a sturdier frame, making them easier to manoeuvre over various terrains like gravel, or grass.

Do the wagons meet Australian Safety Standards?

All Wagons sold by Pragon meet the Australian safety standards of a pram.   The mandatory standard is based on the voluntary Australian New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 2088:2000 'Prams and strollers—safety requirements'.

How long does shipping take?

Each wagon brand is shipped from a different warehouse, in different states. All wagons are dispatched within two working days and sent by courier. Delivery is usually very quick once the wagon has been dispatched.

What is the warranty on the wagon?

Genuine brand wagons purchased in Australia have a 12 month warranty. Please note that if you use off market accessories or use your wagon in a manner in which is was not designed, your warranty may be void.

Is the pram wagon suitable for children with disabilities?

They sure are!!! Pram wagons enable children with disabilities be more included in family outings, which is of great social, physical, emotional and psychological benefit. The open design and comfortable seating area that allows for plenty of room to move or relax. Additionally, the wagons are equipped with safety features like harnesses and stable frames to ensure a secure and comfortable ride.

Can I use NDIS for funding towards a wagon?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) assists participants to do things they may not be able to do otherwise.  It assists participants to do things more easily or safely.  Like getting out of the house, and being included in day to day activities.  
 If a participant is self-managed or plan managed, they may be able to use NDIS funding to purchase a Pram Wagon and/or accessories.

What age range is the pram wagon suitable for?

Each wagon is different. Some are suitable from birth. Others are from 6 months to around 5-6 years old, depending on the child’s size and weight. Some wagons have additional car seat adaptors available.

The wagons are designed to accommodate multiple children, making them ideal for toddlers, preschoolers, and even older kids within the weight limits. Always refer to the product’s specific weight capacity to ensure a safe ride for your children

Are pram wagons safe for newborns?

It depends on the specific pram wagon model. Some pram wagons are designed to be suitable from birth, while others are recommended for children aged 6 months and up, up to around 5-6 years old, depending on their size and weight. How many children can the pram wagon hold at once?

Depending on the make and model, you can fit between 1 to 4 children in the wagon.


The pram wagons are built to carry multiple children, making them perfect for toddlers, preschoolers, and even older kids, as long as they stay within the weight limits. Be sure to check the product’s specific weight capacity to ensure a safe and comfortable ride for your little ones.

Are pram wagons allowed in shopping centers and other public spaces such as theme parks and zoos?

Yes, pram wagons are generally allowed in shopping centres and most public spaces, as they are classified similarly to traditional prams and strollers.


As of now, we haven’t received any reports of pram wagons being restricted in public spaces. Our customers have successfully taken them to various theme parks, zoos, and aquariums across Australia without any issues. However, it's always a good idea to check with the specific venue ahead of time if you have concerns. Certain areas, such as Sea World restrict all prams and wagons in the Dolphin Show. We advise you to take a lock when leaving your wagon unattended.

Can I use the pram wagon on various terrains like gravel, or grass?

Thanks to their larger, durable wheels and sturdy construction, pram wagons offer smooth maneuverability on uneven surfaces. Whether you’re at the park, or navigating rougher outdoor paths, the pram wagon ensures a comfortable ride for your children while making it easier for you to push across different terrains.

Can I use the pram wagon on sand?

All wagons can move smoothly over hard sand. However, pushing any wagon through soft sand isn’t possible — you’ll need to pull it instead. Some wagons come equipped with a pull strap or handle, while others offer one as an optional accessory. If you take your pram wagon to the beach, be sure to wash and dry it afterward to prevent rusting.

Do you ship internationally?

We can ship some pram wagons to New Zealand, but it requires an individual shipping quote. The cost typically ranges from $250 to $350, depending on the specific wagon and the exchange rate. Please note that if a warranty issue requires the wagon to be returned, the shipping cost will be the customer’s responsibility. Insurance costs range between $25 and $30, depending on the wagon.

Can I visit a physical store to check the wagons?

Pragon operates as an online-only business, so we don’t have a physical store. However, you can join our pram wagon community to connect with other owners in your area, which may give you the opportunity to see a wagon in person. We understand that purchasing a pram wagon is a big decision. Before buying, it's important to check the wagon’s folded dimensions and compare them with the interior space of your car boot. What is the difference between the USA and Australian models?

Pram wagons have been popular in the USA for several years, but Australia has stricter safety standards for prams. While some people have imported pram wagons from the USA, significant modifications were needed for them to meet Australian safety requirements. These changes include smaller adjustments, like specific warning labels, and larger safety features, such as a red brake and a permanently sewn-on crotch strap. It’s important to note that American models do not meet Australian pram safety guidelines and are not covered by the Australian warranty.

Where can I buy pram wagon accessories?

Can I take my wagon on an airplane?

It depends on the airline's policies. Some airlines allow pram wagons to be checked in as prams, while others may require them to be checked as oversized luggage or have restrictions based on size. We recommend referring to it as a pram rather than a wagon when checking with airlines. So far, our customers have successfully flown with their pram wagons, both domestically and internationally, but it’s always best to confirm with your airline before your trip. Be sure to protect it with a travel bag or cover to prevent damage during transport.

Can I hire a Pram Wagon?

Pragon is an online retailer, and we do not offer pram wagons for hire. Our wagons are available for purchase only.


Some places, such as zoos or theme parks, may have wagons for hire.
